Dr. Joshua McCown, O.D., was born and raised in Washington State, growing up in the small town of Poulsbo. He attended Western Washington University where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. He then had the opportunity to move to the great state of Texas to attend the University of the Incarnate Word – Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio where he graduated with his Doctorate of Optometry.
During his optometry school, he completed two private practice externships in Lubbock and Carthage, where he fit specialty contact lenses along with diagnosing and treating ocular disease. |
Dr. McCown is licensed by the Texas State Board of Optometry as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist and is a member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
He enjoys hiking, camping, kayaking and traveling with his wife and golden retriever, Ginger.
Dr. McCown makes sure his patients get all of their questions answered, and does his best to make sure each patient leaves with a smile and a prescription that gives them crisp and clear vision.
